STUDIO
ART (Grades
9 – 12) 1
credit
Students will develop basic art skills through the exploration of a variety of art materials and processes. The course projects will help students develop the ability to work with the elements of art and the fundamentals of design. Students learn to evaluate artwork, become aware of historical factors that shape visual communication and strengthen their powers of observation. NOTE: Studio Art meets the NY State Fine Arts requirement and is a prerequisite for all other art courses. |
Studio Art Supplies list
Personal
Art Supplies: Each student should have his/her personal art supplies and a
storage container to put them in. These items maybe need to be replaced
throughout the year. I will supply storage space in the room for these kits, or
students may store them in the backpack, etc. but they remain the student's
property.
Most of these supplies will be needed for ALL art courses, and can be holdovers or continued from previous courses. (Especially sketchpads) 1 pkg. of 12 #2 Pencils (or enough to last the year, Ticonderoga brand is best for art but any will
